Vital Records

Vital Records provide accurate data concerning life events, such as birth certificates and death certificates. The state of Georgia maintains vital records filed from 1919 to the present.

District 4 Public Health and the 12 counties it comprises are responsible for filing, preserving, protecting, and issuing certified copies of all Georgia births.

Please be advised:  While we are now able to issue death certificates for events that occur within the state of Georgia, we cannot guarantee immediate issuance of the certificate if the event occurred in another state.
