Family Nurse Practitioner Services

Spalding County Health Department has an experienced and board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) on staff to provide the highest level of quality care. The FNP offers the following services for children and adults:

  • Screenings and physicals
  • Diabetes and hypertension management
  • Diagnosis and treatment of common illnesses, skin conditions and injuries
  • Administration and interpretation of diagnostic and laboratory studies

Low Birthweight Initiative

Low birthweight infants (born weighing less than 5.5 pounds) face higher rates of infant mortality, developmental challenges and long-term disabilities. We are working to reduce the number of low birthweight babies born to Spalding County residents by partnering with social and health care agencies to provide smoking cessation classes, nutrition and healthy lifestyle classes, assistance with maternal stress management, and referral to affordable health and dental care.

Safe Kids Car Seat Education

Since 2007, at least 180 children in Georgia who were involved in crashes were saved from serious injury or death by car seats, booster seats and safety education. We offer monthly car seat education classes for parents and caregivers. For more information, please call 770.467.4740 ext.110.
