Yearly Training Classes

January 18, 2019: Catering and Home Based Operations: Learn what you need in order to become a caterer or operate a food service establishment from your home.
April 18, 2019: Mobile Food Trucks/ Extended Food Service/ Temporary Food Service Establishments: Learn the different requirements for each establishment and what you will need in order to operate with a valid permit.
July 18, 2019: You Ask Us? Maybe you missed one of the previous meetings, but would like to gain understanding on the topics; an entrepreneur looking to open a food service establishment or operate at special/private events, a food service manager or employee with specific questions related to your operation. Bring your Food Service related questions to us.
October 17, 2019: Cooling Procedures and Methods: Identify various cooling methods, procedures, and time limits to ensure food items remain safe during this critical process in food preparation.
*Please contact 770-288-6190 ext. 0 to register for each class. Registration must be done at least two (2) weeks in advance.
*The cost is $10 per person/per class. Classes will be located at 137 Henry Parkway, McDonough, GA 30253.
* Classes will begin at 10am and end at 11am (unless additional time is needed based on questions.)

Environmental Health Customer Service Survey

Did you know that you may qualify for WIC services if you are pregnant, just had a baby or are breastfeeding your infant? Your child may qualify up to their 5th birthday. If you qualify you receive a nutrition assessment, health screening, nutrition education, referrals to other health and social services, vouchers for healthy foods and much more. Vaccines
The following vaccines are available for Medicare part D recipients:

  • TDAP (Tetanus-Diptheria-Pertussis)
  • Zostavax (Shingles)
  • Hepatitis A
  • Hepatitis B

Please call ahead to ensure the vaccine is available and that it is appropriate for you.

Nutrition

Henry County Health Department has a licensed dietitian on staff, Karmen Scott, LD, who provides the following services, but is not limited to:

  • Weight Management
  • Hypertension
  • High Cholesterol
  • Diabetes
  • Lifecycle Nutrition

Payment methods accepted are: Cash, check, all major credit cards, and Medicaid (including all CMO’s).

Henry County Health Department is a registered travel clinic through CDC. If you are planning a trip out of the country review CDC travel recommendations. Plan early, give us a call because it can take up to a month to complete all travel vaccines needed.
