Natalie Shelton joined District 4 Public Health in May 2022 to serve as its Public Information Officer and Risk Communicator. After receiving an Associate of Arts degree from Young Harris College, she graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism degree in 1992 and Master of Mass Communication degree in 1994.
After college, she spent six years as the Director of Communications at LaGrange College before moving to Göteborg, Sweden, for 2 years with her husband’s job. Her family then spent 8 years in Texas, Missouri, and Tennessee before returning to LaGrange in 2000.
Her 25-plus years of newswriting, editing, communications, marketing, media relations, graphic design, and photography experience has included a blend of community newspaper and business reporting at the Atlanta Business Chronicle, Fort Worth Business Press, Liberty Tribune (Missouri) and the LaGrange Daily News; higher education communications, marketing, and grant-writing at LaGrange College and Texas Wesleyan University; and hospital communications and marketing at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center and Wellstar Medical Group.
