Epidemiology
The
mission of the epidemiology unit is to monitor and assess the status
of health in the LaGrange Health District. The unit is responsible
for the surveillance, assessment, investigation, control, and prevention
of epidemics throughout the health district.
The epidemiology unit achieves this mission by the following public
health functions:
Monitor health
status to identify community problems.
Investigate
health problems in the district.
Conduct mandated
reporting and surveillance of diseases such as hepatitis, influenza,
and meningitis.
Provide consultation
on health trends and diseases.
Prevent secondary
cases and outbreaks.
Perform analysis
and interpretation for health data.
Inform and
educate our community partners and residents about health issues.
Research for
modern solutions to health problems.
